A luminous setting by Vistosi in the residence designed by Vanessa Roff

In the verdant heart of the Algarve, one of the most charming regions in southern Portugal, stands a private villa with a bold yet harmonious character, where architecture, nature and interior design blend in continuous dialogue. The project is the work of Vanessa Roff, founder of Vanessa Roff Interiors, a leading name on the international residential design scene thanks to her sensitive, bespoke and strategic approach.

With over fifteen years of experience in high-profile projects, Roff brings a style to each project that is at once material and rarefied, understated and deeply distinctive. In this villa, surrounded by a landscape of maritime pines, lawns and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, the interior designer has created a visual narrative made up of neutral tones, clean lines, spacious volumes and luminous details.

One of the central elements of the project is the majestic Puppet chandelier by Vistosi, chosen by Vanessa Roff for the double height of the entrance and positioned as a luminous sculpture suspended between the ground floor and the mezzanine. The round rose window and 24 blown glass spheres, in mixed finishes (transparent, smoked, amber and shaded white), create an ethereal cascade that draws the eye upwards and amplifies the verticality of the space. Each diffuser is unique, irregularly striated according to an ancient Venetian technique reinterpreted in a contemporary key, and enhanced by a careful play of natural reflections from the large windows in the living area.

Vistosi‘s choice is no coincidence: it stems from a deep affinity between Vanessa Roff’s design style and the philosophy of the historic Venetian manufacturer, which blends tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and design. Puppet, designed by Romani Saccani Architetti Associati, is an iconic collection that combines pure form, functionality and expressiveness, perfectly in line with the studio’s idea of measured, timeless luxury.

The entire space, which includes the dining area, an elegant living room and an outdoor area with a swimming pool, is designed as a fluid extension between indoors and outdoors, where every element – from the natural wood table to the neutral fabrics, from the abstract paintings to the decorative vegetation – contributes to a sophisticated yet essential narrative.

In this context, Puppet is not just a lamp: it is an emotional focal point, a design gesture capable of defining the identity of the space and discreetly emphasising the refined signature of those who imagined it.
