Frank is a restaurant located at Via Lecco 1 (corner Vittorio Emanuele) in Milan’s Porta Venezia district. It is a place where you stop for a drink at the end of the day and a restaurant with a predilection for fish and shellfish. Recently, the Frank underwent a makeover that paid homage to the past and projected the restaurant into another dimension. The Notorious Frank is the new name of the restaurant, whose design and atmosphere are inspired by the glamorous venues of Downtown Manhattan, New York. Architect Nick Maltese meticulously designed the project, defining new spaces and creating a harmonious ambience where every detail makes a difference.

Inside, there are two well-defined macro-areas: one with high tables for quick aperitifs, a food area with a wide selection of shellfish and an open kitchen, and finally a dinner-club area with a bar counter where it is also possible to eat. Round arches merge the scenarios, creating a cosy and refined ambience.

The design is based on cool colours juxtaposed with warmer, enveloping tones, with industrial-style fabrics and surfaces. The 3D Wall Carve Atlas Concorde wall coverings and the black and white wallpaper with naturalistic views signed by Maltese, produced by Inkiostro Bianco, lend an urban and contemporary atmosphere to the venue. The lighting has been taken care of with Vistosi chandeliers from the beautiful Riflesso collection, which diffuse a special light in the room, contributing to a chic and informal ambience. The blown glass elements stand out for the simplicity and lightness of their shapes. The three larger shapes are now also available with a second LED, the new G and P shapes allow for cluster compositions, and the new wall version completes the collection. Vistosi lamps are a truly iconic piece of furniture that elegantly characterises any room.

In addition to the design, the kitchen of The Notorious Frank is a key element of the experience. The cuisine is contemporary and light, with a focus on fish and shellfish dishes. Dishes on offer include paccheri with red prawns and capers and olives, tuna escalope with mushroom sauce and hot wasabi broth, golden sea bass with crispy spinach and charcoal oil, as well as various tartares, jokes and crudos. During aperitifs, one can enjoy a fine Red Margarita or a glass of Champagne.
