Chiari di Lunae celebrates its 10th anniversary

A special project combining light and jewellery in collaboration with Morellato and the Di Virgilio Veneziano studio.

At the heart of Euroluce 2015, Vistosi presented Chiari di Lunae, a limited edition project that represents the perfect fusion between the historic art of Murano glassmaking and the world of contemporary jewellery. The result of an extraordinary collaboration with Morellato, a leading Italian brand in easy-to-wear jewellery, and designed by the Di Virgilio Veneziano studio – founded by Gianni Veneziano and Luciana Di VirgilioChiari di Lunae is much more than a lighting system: it is an emotional object, a fabric of light, a sculpture that reflects elegance and craftsmanship.

A luminous reinterpretation of the StarNet collection

Chiari di Lunae is a precious reissue of the StarNet collection, an open and modular lighting system composed of rods in pure handmade Vistosi crystal, enriched with jewel-like pearls that embellish each element. The effect is that of a luminous fabric that captures the eye and diffuses an intense and balanced light thanks to integrated LED sources. The metal structures, in brass and matt black finishes, enhance the simplicity of the shape, leaving room for the brilliance of the material.

Venetian tradition, contemporary design

The inspiration comes from the textures of fine fabrics, antique brocades and the craftsmanship of Murano glass, which in this project are “dressed” with precious elements in a play of influences between design, fashion and decoration. The name itself, Chiari di Lunae, evokes the moonlight reflected in pearls, which also feature in the Morellato jewellery collection of the same name, where natural pearls symbolise purity and elegance.

Morellato: jewellery to enjoy every day

Founded in Venice in 1930, Morellato is now part of the Morellato Group, the leading European jewellery and watchmaking group with Italian capital. With brands such as Sector No Limits, Philip Watch, Chronostar, Bluespirit and numerous international licences (including Just Cavalli, Maserati, Pepe Jeans and Trussardi), Morellato represents Italian excellence, with accessibility and emotion as its guiding values. As Massimo Carraro, CEO of the group, stated:

“In Chiari di Lunae, I rediscover the same modernity, stylistic innovation and harmonious cohesion of the different elements that characterise our jewellery collections.”

The value of light

According to Matteo Moretti, CEO of Vetreria Vistosi, Chiari di Lunae is

“the birth of an extraordinary product that shines with its own light, a lightweight object that is beautiful to look at and enjoy every day, where the intertwining of light, glass, jewellery chains and pendants creates a luminous and precious combination.”

The design by Di Virgilio Veneziano

The Di Virgilio Veneziano studio explores the multiple languages of design, ranging from interior design to industrial design, from graphics to strategic communication. Founded in 2007, the team combines creativity, experimentation and emotional impact with a vision free from formal rigidity. Their artistic and conceptual approach gives rise to solutions capable of generating sensory and narrative experiences, as in the case of Chiari di Lunae.

Chiari di Lunae is not just a piece of furniture, but a poetic creation, capable of narrating light through the most noble and fragile material: glass. A tribute to Italian craftsmanship, in which every detail – from the crystal to the pearls – is an expression of beauty, passion and research.

But Chiari di Lunae is much more than that: it is a concrete example of Vistosi’s ability to develop customised projects designed to meet the aesthetic and technical requirements of exclusive clients. With extensive international experience, Vistosi has collaborated with some of the world’s leading luxury brands, creating extraordinary lighting installations that combine innovation, craftsmanship and visual appeal. This design and manufacturing expertise makes Vistosi an excellent partner for high-end interior design.
