Euroluce 2013_Salone del Mobile Milano

9–14 April

From 9 to 14 April 2013, at Euroluce – Salone del Mobile Milano, Vetreria Vistosi reaffirmed the founding values of its corporate vision: investment in innovative technologies – such as the new “virtuous” glass mixture developed in its in-house laboratories – openness to international markets that are most sensitive to the material, and confidence in contemporary design, even when entrusted to young or as yet unestablished designers.

All these elements are intertwined with the brand’s historic goal: to create and offer lighting models that are not only beautiful, but also versatile and accessible. Unlike many handcrafted creations intended for exclusive contexts, Vistosi’s blown glass collections are designed to adapt naturally to any environment: from the most refined residential spaces to minimalist contemporary furnishings, right up to the needs of the contract sector.

Technological research has led to the development of a new type of lead-free glass that maintains its strength, transparency and ductility. At the same time, dialogue with designers with different sensibilities has given rise to highly customised collections such as Giogali – Angelo Mangiarotti, Diadema – Romani Saccani Architetti Associati and Ecos – Renato Toso, Noti Massari & Associati, alongside families characterised by a wide variety of models such as Poc – Barbara Maggiolo, Assiba – Mauro Olivieri and Implode – Gregorio Spini.

Vistosi also presented a selection of collections that showcase the design talent of the designers involved and the company’s ability to interpret blown glass through different languages, combining contemporary simplicity, refined historical references and experimentation with materials. Mia – Vistosi stands out for its essential design and soft lines, with a diffuser that expresses minimalist elegance and a hidden frame that guarantees discretion and harmony in the space. Neochic – Chiaramonte & Marin celebrates the purity of glass with soft, asymmetrical shapes that are understated on their own and striking in multiple compositions. With Novecento – Romani Saccani Architetti Associati, the traditional Murano chandelier is reinterpreted in a contemporary key, with fluid shapes that recall the classicism of the Venetian candlestick. Spirit – Marco Acerbis draws inspiration from blown glass diamonds, creating textures and volumes that reflect and modulate light. Finally, Trepai – Favaretto&Partners combines Venetian glass and walnut wood in a versatile and refined design, with a rotating and foldable structure that optimises transport and functionality, while expressing elegance and formal rigour.

Diadema – Romani Saccani Architetti Associati explores light in motion: each composition originates from a single element and develops through a modular system that reflects and propagates light dynamically. Ecos – Renato Toso, Noti Massari & Associati starts with a glass ring to create spectacular and freely modular configurations. Giogali – Angelo Mangiarotti remains the symbol of the brand, with the famous modular hooks made one by one by the master glassmakers of Vistosi, who weave unique luminous patterns. Implode – Gregorio Spini offers soft volumes in which the coated glass creates delicate shades between glossy white and transparent crystal. Poc – Barbara Maggiolo stands out for her refined “membrane” technique, which joins two glass parts through an internal crystal element.

The collections exhibited at Euroluce – Salone del Mobile Milano 2013 confirm Vistosi’s philosophy: a unique ability to interpret blown glass with contemporary style, attention to detail and craftsmanship, offering versatile and harmonious solutions that can interact with any context and environment.
