Summer Rain: Vistosi firma una nuova installazione luminosa a Londra

For the London headquarters of Lazari Investments, Vistosi created Summer Rain, a site-specific light installation that interprets the poetry of summer rain through blown glass and light.

The project stems from a simple yet evocative image: those moments when rain falls whilst the sun continues to shine, transforming every drop into a golden reflection. From this inspiration, a luminous composition takes shape, designed to interact with the architecture of the space, which is characterised by a monumental stone staircase that wraps around the installation.

The installation consists of 250 hand-blown glass droplets, suspended at varying heights to evoke the natural fall of rain. 92 of the elements contain gold dust, whilst 158 feature trapped air bubbles, creating a rich interplay of reflections and translucency.

The 3000K LED light sources, integrated into bespoke brushed brass fixtures, illuminate every droplet with precision and delicacy. The lighting control system varies the light intensity over time, simulating the fluctuations of natural light and creating the impression of moving rain.

Crafted by master glassmakers in Murano, these glass droplets diffuse and refract light, creating a sparkling effect reminiscent of rain glistening in the sun.

With Summer Rain, Vistosi brings the quiet wonder of a summer downpour into the building, transforming the entrance into a luminous experience that combines traditional craftsmanship, technical innovation and visual appeal.
