We are thrilled to share that two of our design creations, Groove, designed by Hangar Design Group, and Plissé, conceived by Chiaramonte & Marin, have won the prestigious Good Design Awards 2024, the world’s oldest and most renowned award for design excellence.

Plissé – A harmony inspired by nature

The Plissé lamp, with its unique design, recalls the lightness and fluid shapes of jellyfish. The large blown glass diffuser encloses a fabric inner shade, creating an elegant play of transparencies, colours and textures. This refined element, available in a suspended version with LED source, adds a distinctive touch to any environment.

Groove – A homage to the minimalism of the 1960s

Groove, conceived by Hangar Design Group’s creative team, is inspired by the rigour of early 1960s minimalist design. The flexible structure, composed of four metal frames that slide to create variable geometries, is a perfect balance of regular shapes and refined glass and metal finishes. A versatile solution that combines functionality and style to adapt to different needs.

An award of international prestige

Founded in Chicago in 1950 by design legends such as Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, the Good Design Award is the oldest and most recognised programme for design excellence worldwide. This year, for its 74th edition, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design received a record number of entries from leading manufacturers and design firms from over 55 countries. The entries represent a wide range of innovations, from ‘spoon to city,’ awarding projects that combine sustainability, superior design and unparalleled functionality. In November/December 2023, the Good Design Awards jury selected over 1,100 products and graphics worthy of the award for their outstanding design quality. Groove and Plissé stood out among the entries, confirming the value of our design vision and the significant contribution we bring to the contemporary design landscape. We are honoured to see our work celebrated with such a prestigious award.
