Vistosi at the Venice Design Week 2025
October 11–19, Venice – Church of San Leonardo, Cannaregio 1584, Strada Nova
TEMPORA: the theme of the 2025 edition of the Venice Design Week
TEMPORA is the theme chosen for the Venice Design Week 2025: a vision that bridges past and future, where design becomes a meeting point between times, cultures and knowledge. The line connecting the eras is fluid and cohesive, vibrant and pulsating, constantly shaped by the interaction of multiple forces, energies and paradigms.
In this scenario, design does not end with a single creative gesture but becomes a contribution to an evolving story: a continuous dialogue with the natural environment, emerging technologies, and the people who inhabit them. Every idea and product become part of a shared flow that values the memory of the past, looks to the future, and promotes diversity as a source of inspiration. TEMPORA invites designers and visitors to reflect on the responsibility of each object as part of a continuum — a piece of a collective narrative where aesthetics intertwine with function, ethics, and sustainability, enriching the human experience in a constantly transforming world.
Vistosi lights up the Venice Design Week 2025 with a spectacular Murano glass installation.
From October 11 to 19, 2025, Vistosi will take center stage at the Venice Design Week with a presence that blends art, design, and innovation. In the evocative former Church of San Leonardo, the company presents a site-specific work interpreting the theme TEMPORA, transforming the space into a theater of light and crystal: two draperies of nearly 4,000 Giogali hooks in pure crystal, designed by Angelo Mangiarotti, reaching almost five meters in height and enveloping the space in an immersive, precious atmosphere.
The event, born from the collaboration between the Venetian Smart Lighting Award (VSLA) and the Venice Design Week, becomes a meeting place and a forum for reflection on the culture of light, celebrating the vitality of Murano glass interpreted through a contemporary language.
The “Giogali” installation at the Church of San Leonardo
The work is a bespoke interpretation of the iconic Giogali collection designed in 1967 by Angelo Mangiarotti. Composed of two draperies of 16 chains each, fixed at the ends of a structure, it comprises about 3,520 glass elements with a total weight of 300 kg. Its dimensions (5 x 5 m with a depth of 2.5 m) and the supporting structure in painted wooden panels have been designed to integrate harmoniously with the architecture of the church’s apse, enhancing its aesthetic and spiritual qualities.
The work was designed and installed in full respect of the building’s aesthetic and structural characteristics, using certified materials and technical solutions suitable to ensure safety, stability and easy maintenance. Sparkling, transparent draperies, suspended like luminous curtains, transform the space into an immersive environment where light and matter engage in an emotional narrative of great impact.
Vistosi will also bring other iconic collections inside the church and the prestigious Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani Venice. In addition to the monumental installation, Vistosi will exhibit in the Church of San Leonardo some pieces from its most recent and award-winning collections:
These installations enhance the visitor experience, creating an immersive journey through innovation, craftsmanship, and research in Murano glassblowing.
At the same time, Vistosi is presenting Plot Frame in another exceptional venue: the Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani Venice.
Located in the heart of the historic center and overlooking the Cannaregio Canal, the hotel occupies a historic building that reflects the political, social, and cultural life of the Serenissima. Just a short walk from the Ghetto and the neighborhood’s small shops and cafés, the Radisson is conveniently connected to the rest of the city as well as to the islands of Murano and Burano.
With 52 rooms and suites designed with refined touches of Venetian style, the hotel features original frescoes, an inner garden, and an atmospheric restaurant. Contemporary spaces and exclusive amenities make the Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani Venice, the ideal setting to showcase Vistosi’s design, creating a dialogue between history, hospitality, and contemporary creativity.
