The store opened in Paris on Rue Saint Honoré is the epitome of VERSACE‘s visionary approach to fashion, a space that becomes the canvas for its collections. The vast flagship store spans a surface area of 427 square meters, spread over three floors, and was designed by the renowned architect Gwenael Nicolas of the Japanese studio Curiosity. It hosts the high fashion collections of ready-to-wear and accessories for both women and men.
The designer envisioned the environment as a painter’s canvas on which to lay out the brand’s artistic creations, much like Versace blends and integrates its classical heritage with modern trends in perfect balance. The shopping experience is guided by the elaborate artistic ceiling with motifs in solid glass inspired by the Medusa of the Maison. The lighting system was specially created by the Master Glassmakers of Vistosi, and the “symbolic chandelier,” in its function of reflection and refraction, bestows upon the environment a timeless, magical atmosphere.
This refined context is characterized by the presence of a very pristine and neutrally reinterpreted material palette: floors and wall coverings in shades of white and gray marble from Margraf, treated with waterjet technology, paneling and sculpted walls in various finishes, which reveal details reminiscent of Gianni Versace’s residence. The display furniture is delivered in a series of wall tableaux: stunning paintings sequenced with iconic motifs of the brand, shelves, and golden metal structures.
The ground floor is dedicated to accessories, the first floor hosts women’s collections with a spacious salon for footwear and haute couture, while the basement is intended for men’s creations. The three floors are connected by a sculptural staircase, crafted in marble and brass.
The combination of simple materials, baroque finishes, and modern artwork creates a balanced coexistence of classic and contemporary elements, capable of narrating the brand with a refined narrative design capacity.
