Vistosi signs the scenographic lighting for the NCC Kineum project in Gothenburg
Within the prestigious NCC Kineum complex – located in the heart of Gothenburg, on the west coast of Sweden – Vistosi has designed the lighting for some of the most representative areas of the project: spaces dedicated to relaxation, entertainment and service areas, designed to welcome guests and professionals in a contemporary and refined setting.
Kineum is an iconic building developed by NCC, one of Northern Europe’s leading construction and property development groups. With a total area of approximately 42,000 square metres, the complex combines hotel, office, event and leisure facilities in an integrated vision of architecture and urbanity. A place where design, innovation and quality come together, creating a multifunctional and dynamic environment that is a landmark for business and social life in Gothenburg.
In this context, Norlux – Vistosi’s official distributor in Sweden – played a key role in coordinating and providing technical solutions for the lighting. Thanks to their in-depth knowledge of the local market and solid experience in contract projects, Norlux was able to support all phases of the project with expertise, ensuring the perfect integration of the Vistosi collections into the Kineum spaces. Special thanks go to the Norlux team for their professionalism and care in the realisation of this ambitious and visually striking project.
The star of the common areas is the Semai collection by Vistosi, designed by Alberto Saggia and Valerio Sommella. Made from mouth-blown glass using a free technique, each Semai pendant lamp is unique, thanks to the slight variations created by the artisanal process. The glossy white glass, enclosed in a dark steel cage, recalls the tradition of ancient Venetian lanterns, reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The result is a suspended lamp that combines elegance, character and material identity, perfect for lighting passageways and relaxation areas.
To complete the project, the spacious rooms at Kineum also stand out for the use of two iconic collections: Peggy and Medea, chosen in the single suspension version to emphasise the stylistic variety and design care that runs throughout the entire building.
Peggy, designed by Hangar Design Group, was born from the contrast between black and white. The shiny white blown glass, handcrafted, combines with the expressive strength of shiny black metal or antique brass. The result is a refined yet bold object that conveys elegance and rationality even in the most contemporary settings.
Medea, designed by Oriano Favaretto, stands out for its geometric and minimalist lines. Equipped with an integrated LED light source, the lamp illuminates the surface below while diffusing soft light through the glass, creating warm reflections on the ceiling. Presented in a group or as a single piece, Medea becomes a true luminous sculpture.
The presence of these Vistosi collections at NCC Kineum once again confirms the expertise gained over the years by the Venetian company in high-profile contract projects, where craftsmanship, contemporary design and quality materials interact with architecture to offer a distinctive and unique experience.
