Four Seasons Hotels, Inc., which operates as Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, is a Canadian-based multinational in Toronto, specializing in luxury hospitality. It operates more than 100 hotels worldwide.
Since 2007, the majority owners of the company are Bill Gates and Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal.

Isadore Sharp founded Four Seasons Hotels, Inc. in 1960. He was still a young architect who practiced in his father’s studio, when he designed a motel for a family friend; his success prompted him to create his own hotel. He then bought a large plot of land in a degraded area of Toronto and designed a hotel to offer business travelers the chance to stay during airport stopovers; the Four Seasons Motor Hotel was thus inaugurated in 1961.

Four Seasons built other hotels including theInn on the Park in 1963, a two-story, $4 million resort hotel on the outskirts of Toronto, which also hosted Canada’s first nightclub.

In October 2012, Four Seasons opened a new hotel in Toronto, with 259 rooms. It is located in the Yorkville district and was designed by the international architect Yabu Pushelberg. The hotel, which includes a luxury restaurant led by chef Daniel Boulud, was described by The Globe and Mail as “the rebirth of an iconic Canadian brand in its hometown.” The penthouse was purchased by entrepreneur Robert Österlund (founder of Xacti, LLC and Inbox.com) for over $28 million, a record price in Canada.

Ceiling lights from the Giogali collection by Vistosi designed by master Angelo Mangiarotti decorate the dining and living rooms. In both impressive installations, multiple hooks elegantly create a distinguished space thanks to the modern, streamlined features. The light that illuminates the relaxation area consists of two circumferences of about 50 cm for a total height of one meter.
The second is much more impactful in terms of size: a circumference of one meter by two and a half meters in height. Both are set into a beautiful ceiling that echoes the rounded shapes of the cascades of pure crystal hooks.
